Summary

We tracked this photogenic EF2 tornado for 5 miles along US Hwy 34 west of Aurora, Nebraska. It overturned a dozen rail cars and spun up numerous gustnadoes along the leading edge. The tornado was headed straight for Aurora which prompted the NWS to issue a rare Tornado Emergency. Fortunately it lifted just before it got to town.
