high risk tornado warned supercell
120

Summary

Intercepted a tornado-warned supercell southwest of Des Moines in a high categorical risk and PDS tornado watch. It quickly transitioned to a bowing line segment but low-level rotation remained embedded initially. A brief touchdown was reported but I didn't observe any interaction with the ground. This was the first time I brought a camera with me on a chase: an Olympus D-360L 1.3 megapixel digital camera.
